Cory graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with a focus in Advanced Software Development. He also earned his Project Management Certificate (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from the University of South Carolina in 2020.
SSgt (Retired) Cory Bassett was born and raised in the Chicagoland area, and was part of the first graduating class of Plainfield North High School in 2008. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2010. During his 10 years of service, he has attended many leadership courses which consist of BLC and ALS as an Air Traffic Controller and Airfield Manager.
SSgt (Retired) Cory Bassett received numerous awards throughout his 20 years of service, including two Air Force Commendation Medals, and was stationed at Nellis AFB, NV, Shaw AFB, SC, Southwest Asia, and Djibouti. He retired as a Staff Sergeant (E-5) from the United States Air Force in 2020. After retirement, Cory continued service as a GS Civilian for the Department of Defense until 2022.
Cory brings a unique blend of military discipline, strategic thinking, and organizational prowess to inspire and motivate his teams. Coupled with his strong moral compass and innovative problem-solving skills, Cory is a respected and admired leader within his community.
